Two Robots Storyline
A Foreword
Hey Salvagers,
Aaron here. As we talked about in the introduction blog post (if you missed it, you can read it here, one of our goals was to create a world that was incredibly realistic. In attempting to accomplish this, we have crafted a storyline that we can’t wait to share with you all. A few notes about our storyline before we hop straight into it. Also, somewhere in the site we have hidden a few blog posts. They may or may not be related to the planets within the Two Robots solar system. Hint hint. Now onto the material that you were hoping to read!
Once upon a time in a galaxy far far away… Wait wait, that’s not right.
The Day of Sirens
The Day of Sirens was one of confusion, of panic, of destruction. While everyone was aware of the instability caused by the War of World Factions, they were confident that their own planet's defenses, an army of specialized robots, would be able to hold off any attacks before they reached the cities, as they had been doing for so long. But, one morning, the explosions were no longer as distant, and the quakes became more intense. Neighborhoods had somehow become battlefields overnight. It was only until a new warning blared across the airwaves that the terror became real. "Our robots have turned against us."
The few Rennovans who snapped out of their state of shock survived the initial attacks and evaded the wrath of the unexpected swarm, finding their way to bunkers below the surface, prepared before the War. There was no need to worry about food and water rations, as the underground safe zones remained hauntingly empty.
Many officials still clung to the rumors that had spread, accusations toward various individuals of partaking in suspicious activity, conspiring to take control of the System and its resources, or of somehow hacking the robots' programming to gain an unfair advantage, but most agreed that re-establishing communication was their best chance at surviving the sudden uprising and quelling the fears of their constituents.
After long periods of heated debate and a resurgence of pointing fingers, the living faction leaders put an end to the robotic reign of terror with one final agreement. A Xandranium bomb would be dropped on each planet in hopes that only their technologic assailants would be destroyed and that, in time, the underground residents would be able to return to the surface safely.
As the Sirentury approaches, a number of Rennovans dare to accept this challenge, leaving their shelters with maps and scanners in hand, determined to prove that the Rennova System can be restored to its former glory, piece by piece. And what better way to demonstrate the process than by salvaging a robot?
Looking Back
After reading that you are probably thinking, where does this fit in the storyline? You can view the storyline for the Two Robots universe here. This is essentially the end of the story as we know it and where the game begins. There are many questions to be had though. What caused the Robots to act out? How did they get into that futuristic existence in the first place? Who are the Rennovans? Stay tuned, all of these questions will be answered in future posts.
As always, if you have any questions or feedback for us on the storyline we would absolutely love to hear it. You can drop us a line on any of our social media handles or email us!
Till next time, Aaron
